With the shrimp fishery underway in SFA 6, it’s a good time to post reminders about tolerances, limits, and dates. There are no changes, this is just a reminder of rules that have been in place for many years.
- The current spring price schedule expires on Saturday, June 20 at midnight. The summer price schedule will then be in place until mid-September. The parties were unable to reach an agreement, so the Panel hearing was held on Friday, June 12. We are expecting a decision tomorrow and the price will be posted as soon as it is available.
- The fleet caps for SFA 6 are: 2J 120,000 lb, plus 10,000 lb cap tolerance; 3Kn 120,000 lb, plus 10,000 lb cap tolerance; 3Ks 73,825 lb, plus 10,000 lb cap tolerance; 3L 110,000 lb, plus 10,000 lb cap tolerance.
- There is a 10,000 lb per share cap tolerance and a 10,000 lb per share trip limit tolerance. The trip limit tolerance does not allow you to exceed your cap plus tolerance. It just allows you flexibility in your trip limits.
- When calculating overruns, reject shrimp is deducted from the catch.
- Trip limits change on June 20. That table is posted below.
- Details on the reopening of SFA 7 are expected next week, and we will post as soon as information is available.
