VESSEL NEEDED IN BONAVISTA BAY

May 26, 2025

As part of the effort to document the catchability of crab and the impact groundfish is having on the crab resource, we are conducting underwater camera work. As a trial, we are looking for a vessel that is fishing crab in Bonavista Bay.

If you are fishing crab and would be willing to carry our at-sea technician and camera set-up, please send your name, phone number, and landing port to Ian Ivany at iivany@ffaw.ca or (709) 770-2583.

The compensation for this work is $750 per day, with additional compensation per camera deployed. The deadline to enter your name is Tuesday, May 27 at 5 PM. A draw list will be created Tuesday evening and priority will be given based on departure date.
