UPDATE ON AFTERMATH OF MEETING WITH PREMIER WAKEHAM

January 14, 2026

Following yesterday’s update, FFAW President Dwan Street
heard from government today as the province’s work progresses. Premier Wakeham met with the Association of Seafood Producers (ASP) today and did not backtrack on his message. The Premier has requested a meeting with both parties.

ASP will bring the matter to their larger group and respond to government soon. The Premier has also asked John Sackton for an update on why his earlier prediction that the price gap would close did not materialize. Street also suggested government reach out to Les Hodge for a second opinion on the matter.

We expect further communication from government once these follow-ups take place and will share any updates as soon as they are available.
