RESCHEDULED: Information Session for Fish Harvesters - Fischells Salt Dome Energy Project
Triple Point Resources is inviting fish harvesters in the Bay St. George area to attend an information meeting about the proposed Fischells Salt Dome Energy Project. FFAW is not involved in or affiliated with this project. The attached information was created by the project proponent and is being shared to let members in the area know about an upcoming community information session they may want to attend. Sharing this information does not mean FFAW is supporting or not supporting the project. The goal is to help members stay informed and form their own opinions.
The project is a proposed clean energy storage and generation facility in the Bay St. George region that would use underground salt caverns and compressed air energy storage technology to store energy and provide electricity when it is needed.
Recent feasibility work has provided new information about the project. The purpose of this meeting is to:
• share what is currently known about the project
• explain preliminary plans, including coastal infrastructure in St. George’s Bay
• hear questions, concerns, and local knowledge from fish harvesters
• help inform how engagement with the fishing industry should continue
This is an early-stage engagement. Project details are still being refined, and feedback from fish harvesters will help inform the next stages of planning and consultation.
Date: Thursday, March 12
Time: 10:00 AM
Location: Days Inn, Stephenville
