MSC BALTIC III SALVAGE UPDATE

December 4, 2025

As of December 4th, the following is an update on the current status of the MSC Baltic III as per MSC representatives:

– The cableway is operational, and crews are being transferred to the vessel via cableway when wind speeds are below 30 knots.

– Since the last major storm (in early November), work has been focused on recovering damaged and vulnerable equipment on board and repositioning salvage equipment further forward, away from the weather exposed areas.

– New gensets have been delivered to the vessel to power the vessel’s cranes. One crane needs mechanical repairs.

– Work on building enclosures and winterizing equipment is ongoing to improve workability during the winter.

There is a significant storm forecast for December 5. MSC salvage representatives and FFAW staff will meet next week to address questions and provide another update then.
