LOBSTER QUALITY & HANDLING WORKSHOP – HAWKE’S BAY

The FFAW is offering a free lobster quality and handling workshop in Hawke’s Bay. The workshop will be held Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Torrent River Inn. The trainer for the workshop will be Melanie Giffin, a marine biologist from the PEI Fishermen’s Association. Jeff Griffin, Area 4R Member Representative, will also be in attendance. Topics that will be discussed include lobster biology and anatomy, proper handling techniques to reduce stress/mortality, and how to determine the quality of your lobster. Session will be 2-3 hours and will include a door prize. Attendance will be taken, and one (1) land-based education credit will be awarded.
