LOBSTER QUALITY AND HANDLING WORKHOP – SPRINGDALE

The FFAW is offering a free lobster quality and handling workshop in Springdale, NL. The workshop will be held Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025, at 2:00 pm. at the Manual Hall. The trainer for the workshop will be Melanie Giffin, a marine biologist from the PEI Fishermen’s Association. Kim Rose, Area 3K Member Representative, will also be in attendance. Topics that will be discussed include lobster biology and anatomy, proper handling techniques to reduce stress/mortality, and how to determine the quality of your lobster. Session will be 2-3 hours, and will include a door prize. Attendance will be taken and one (1) land-based education credit will be awarded.
