Fixed and Mobile Gear Mackerel Fishery – Change to Close Time
DFO advises harvesters that the Mobile Gear and Fixed Gear mackerel fishery in all mackerel fishing areas of Newfoundland and Labrador Region will close as of Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 1200 hours (noon) Newfoundland Standard Time, for conservation purposes as commercial landings are near or have reached the Total Allowable Catch of 10,000 tonnes.
The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Orders 2018-380 and 2018-381 have been revoked and Variation Orders 2018-382 and 2018-383 come into effect on October 9, 2018.
