Important Survey on 2J3KL Cod Catch Rates

March 21, 2023

FFAW-Unifor’s Science Department is collecting harvester observations for the 2J3KL northern cod fishery in advance of the Union’s proposal for the stewardship fishery this year. DFO’s failure to complete a stock assessment this year means new information is limited outside of the Cod Sentinel Survey results. Information from the stewardship fishery may assist with discussions regarding allowable harvest in 2023. Results will be collected until Monday, March 27, 2023.
