Demonstration in Support of Labrador Search and Rescue

September 16, 2025

On behalf of Jeanette Russell and the Labrador Coalition for Search and Rescue, we would like to invite you to attend tomorrow’s demonstration to be held at 280 Southside Road in St Johns starting at 9am.

“Public Search and Rescue Protest for Labrador

Please join the Labrador Coalition for Search and Rescue and the FFAW for a peaceful protest at 9 am tomorrow, September 17th in St. John’s at the Canadian Coast Guard Maritime Rescue Sub-Centre at 280 Southside Rd. to commemorate the 4-year anniversary of the loss of the F.V. Island Lady.  Come and help to demand action from the Canadian Coast Guard.

I can’t sit home another September 17th mourning the loss of Marc and Joey knowing how vulnerable Labrador’s mariners are because the Canadian Coast Guard has failed to invest in the essential primary search and rescue needed to protect lives at sea.

Labrador Lives Matter too.”
