As an important stakeholder in Placentia Bay, the fishing industry has serious concerns regarding the process, namely the lack of consultation, as well as the separation of the review of the proposed hatchery from that of the sea farm sites in the environmental assessment process for the proposed Grieg Aquaculture Development. FFAW-Unifor has submitted the following letters on behalf of its membership advising that appropriate consultation and holistic consideration of the entire proposed aquaculture project be undertaken prior to any activity being allowed to proceed.
