The following buddy-up rules that apply to all species will be in place for lobster:
β‘A buddy-up is an arrangement between two license holders.
β‘Only one buddy-up is allowed per season.
β‘A buddy-up must be in place before fishing starts.
β‘There are no designations in a buddy-up.
β‘A buddy-up can be canceled at any time.
The following apply to lobster and would be in place if buddy-up is approved for your lobster fishing area:
β‘Both license holders in the buddy-up must be aboard the vessel whenever lobster is being fished.
β‘To be clear, in a buddy-up arrangement, both buddies must be on-board during all lobster fishing activity, including setting and hauling pots; and
β‘The pot limit in buddy-up arrangements is double the pot limit for a license holder who is fishing singly. For example, if your current pot limit is 150, then in a buddy-up arrangement, your pot limit is 300.
