UPDATE ON COURT PROCEEDINGS

April 2, 2025

Ray Critch appeared in court this morning representing FFAW-Unifor against ASPs application on Minister Gerry Byrne’s decision to shift the Panel hearing date for crab. There will be a ruling next week on whether the Minister can make a unilateral decision to shift the date by which an agreement has to be in place. No decision today means that the parties can agree to change the Panel date to April 6, otherwise it will proceed on April 7.

The negotiating committee is meeting tomorrow morning, and we will provide an update on the Panel date after that meeting.
