UPCOMING FLEET VOTES

December 9, 2025

Over the last year, several fleets and committees have been seeking policy and management changes to their fisheries.

To ensure that all license holders in those fleets have the opportunity to have their say, the votes will be done electronically – either online or by phone – the same way that Inshore Council elections were conducted in Summer 2024.

Approximately 85% of license holders in those fleets have email addresses on file and will be receiving a link tomorrow morning to cast their ballot. The email will come from the following address voterinfo@intelivote.com

For those who do not have an email address on file, they will receive a letter in the mail with a toll-free number that they can call to cast their ballot.

Please remember that all ballots cast, whether online or by phone, are secret ballots. We can tell if you voted, but not how you voted.

The voting period opens tomorrow morning (Devenber 10 )and closes at 4 PM on Monday January 5, 2026. Results will be released that same evening, and recommendations will be provided to DFO based on the results of the votes. Note that the department makes the decision on whether to implement a recommendation.

Additional information about the votes will be available at ffaw.ca/vote2025 and will be mailed to those who are receiving their voting information by mail.

For questions related to voting, please call the office at (709) 576-7276 up to and including December 22. After December 22, please call (709) 743-5220.
