SUMMER SHRIMP PRICE NEGOTIATION UPDATE

June 16, 2021

June 16, 2021 – Negotiations on the Summer price for shrimp were held this week. After three days of negotiations, your Union and ASP remained far apart in their price positions. A hearing to set the price will be held tomorrow with the Standing Fish Price Setting Panel.

The FFAW price submission is for $1.22 per pound, which accurately reflects the current market.

The ASP price submission is $1.10 per pound.

The Panel must accept either the FFAW-Unifor or ASP price positions. We anticipate a decision next week, and will provide updates promptly to members once the decision has been made.

Thank You to the negotiating committee for your work and insights this week.
