3Ps Fixed Gear Skate Opening
DFO advises that the fixed gear skate and monkfish fisheries in NAFO subdivision 3Ps (units a, b, c, d, e, f, g and h) will open at 0600 hours on May 15, 2023.
DFO advises that the retention of Atlantic halibut bycatch by fixed-gear vessels less than 65 feet directing for skate and monkfish in NAFO Sub-Division 3Ps is permitted. By-catch provisions are outlined in harvesters Groundfish General Licence Conditions.
