The NL Groundfish Industry Development Council has submitted a revised proposalfor the northern cod stewardship fishery based on DFO’s recently announced management approach and decreased quota of 9500 tons. The revised proposal was developed in consultation with members of FFAW-Unifor’s Inshore Council. Options considered for adjustment included reducing weekly limits and reducing the number of weeks fished. Ultimately, fish harvesters wanted to avoid reducing weekly limits. Inshore Council members unanimously supported the revisions.

Please review this revised proposal and don’t hesitate to contact us at 576-7276 if you have any questions.
