Lobster Harvesters LFAs 4A & 7

April 15, 2025

FFAW Science is seeking applications from lobster harvesters in LFAs 4A & 7 to participate in the 2025 Lobster Science Program.

Data collected from this program is crucial for tracking and assessing the status of lobster in the Newfoundland and Labrador region. Work will include fishing a modified trap (cover the escape panel) as one of your daily traps and recording basic information on male and female lobsters. You will record your catch information in two paper logbooks – one for your commercial traps and one for your modified trap. You will also receive a temperature logger to attach to your modified trap and you will receive the temperature data at the end of the season.

Harvesters are being notified of this opportunity by this post and through email.

Applications are due April 23, 2025. Click here to view application.
