FFAW Accepting Applications _ Conduct A Pelagic (Midwater) Trawl Survey for Unit 1 Redfish

Pending Final Project Approval and Successful Awarding of Contract, FFAW is now accepting applications to conduct a Pelagic (Midwater) Trawl Survey for Unit 1 Redfish. This survey will occur somewhere between July 10th to August 6th, 2021. The successful applicant will accompany a DFO Acoustic Ship and attempt to sample when requested. FFAW will provide a Pelagic (Midwater) Trawl and Semi-Pelagic Trawl Doors however the following are pre-conditions for application;
• 3Pn, 4R Mobile Gear Ground-fish (Otter Trawl) License
• Vessel Minimum Length Overall (LOA) = 60 feet (no vessel leasing)
• Minimum Vessel Horsepower = 700
• Operational Trawl Monitoring System
• Provide an EK 60 or EK 80 echosounder system or allow DFO personnel to install or calibrate an EK 60 or EK 80 system.
• Minimum Experience using a Pelagic (Midwater) Trawl = Three (3) Years
• Ability to accommodate at least two (2) Science personnel (i.e. DFO)
