ASP and FFAW Discuss Upcoming Crab Season

FFAW and the Association of Seafood Producers (ASP) are holding a joint news conference this morning at 11:00am to announce plans to constructively work together in advance of the snow crab season – to address important issues such as pricing, scheduling and trip limits.
The show of cooperation follows the Inshore Council meeting held earlier this month, where elected leadership directed the Union to explore ways to iron out issues relating to the crab fishery, especially in light of current global challenges.
With new leadership at the helm of both organizations and a commitment from companies to abide by the collective bargaining act, this is currently the best solution to maximize returns and benefits to fish harvesters.
