Plant Workers Meet with Minister to Discuss Concerns

Yesterday, plant workers met with Minister Sherry Gambin-Walsh to discuss concerns related to workplace health and safety. The workers shared their own experiences with occupational illnesses and specifically pointed out the growing number of plant workers experiencing the debilitating symptoms of shellfish asthma. FFAW-Unifor continues to call on Workplace NL to develop a Fish Processing Sector Safety Council in order to address the unique safety concerns of workers in this sector.
