FEDERAL FISHERIES ANNOUNCEMENT TOMORROW

April 24, 2024

FFAW-Unifor has just been advised that tomorrow, Thursday, April 25, 2025 at 10:30am NL time, Minister Diane Lebouthillier will make an announcement concerning opening a new bait fishery in Atlantic Canada and Quebec.

FFAW-Unifor is not privy to the details of this announcement and the Union is concerned that mackerel license holders could be negatively affected by a potential bait fishery for the species.

Details will be provided when available.
