November 21, 2021
Today is World Fisheries Day. Each year on November 21, we recognize the people who make their living in the fishery. Fish harvesters, plant workers, researchers, dockside monitors, transportation providers, and so many others who make their living through a healthy and vibrant inshore fishery.
The owner-operator, inshore fishery is entrenched in the cultural, social and economic fabric of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is the past, present and future of our coastal communities and it’s what we fight to protect every single day.
On World Fisheries Day and every day, we are celebrating the people who believe in the fishery and are doing their part to protect the industry for generations to come.
