West Coast Lobster Seasons / Delays
This morning the committee for 13B just finished their sixth conference call on the opening of the fishery in that area. The ice has finally dissipated and with light winds in the forecast for Monday harvesters are anxious to get what is noted as the latest start for this area underway. Every LFA from 12-14B has been delayed this year and hopefully the call with 14B harvesters this Sunday will see that fishery go ahead (set) on Wednesday. The FFAW would like to recognize all the hard work, commitment and professionalism from the volunteer committees in these difficult situations to try and do the best job possible for both the harvesters and the resource. We wish all harvesters a safe and successful season.
