SHRIMP PRICE AGREEMENT

April 18, 2024

Today, FFAW and ASP came to a successful agreement on the price of shrimp for the 2024 fishing season; spring, summer and fall fisheries will all be under one price agreement of $1.36/lb. There is a $0.04/lb premium for gulf shrimp, and there will be no trucking fees for shrimp landing in St. Anthony and Port aux Choix/Port Saunders.

“This agreement will give stability and predictability for shrimp harvesters in our province and ensure they can harvest their allotted quotas in whichever season they choose. Most importantly, this agreement gets harvesters closer to their historical share level and is a foundation to build on for future years,” says FFAW-Unifor Secretary-Treasurer Jason Spingle.
