Sheen Spotted Near Terra Nova Oil Field

June 23, 2020

An oil sheen was spotted yesterday afternoon after Suncor’s Terra Nova FPSO had disconnected from the field and was en route to Conception Bay. The sheen was determined to be unrecoverable due to size and now appears to have dissipated, however monitoring is ongoing including water sampling of the area. No fishing vessels were in the area at the time of the incident. Updates will be provided when available.
