As Labour Day weekend approaches, take a moment to think about the value of good jobs in Newfoundland and Labrador.
From workplace safety to fighting for fair wages, unions play an important role in fighting for fairness for all. We have achieved incredible gains over the years by working together, and we continue to fight for vibrant, sustainable communities.
This is what your Union strives to achieve each and every day through constructive dialogue with government officials, in holding companies to account, and to invest in the people and communities of our province. Big businesses and corporate interests continue with their attempt at increasing their share of the profits and leaving workers with less and less.
We will continue to fight for good jobs – for the present and for our future. We cannot take our gains for granted, and we cannot lose the ground we have made.
This Labour Day, let’s remember that we stand together in solidarity.
