Funding has been approved under the Department of Fisheries and Land Resources Seafood Innovation and Transition Program to assist with observer coverage fees for the 3NO Whelk Exploratory Fishery.

DFO has provided the list of harvesters who have expressed their intent to participate in this fishery. Harvesters are asked to contact Seawatch to reserve an observer.

FFAW-Unifor thanks the Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Fisheries and Land Resources for his timely attention to this application and for understanding how important this funding is to harvesters participating in this fishery.

If you have questions, please contact your staff rep or Dwan Street at the St. John’s office (709) 576-7276.
