Capelin Prices 2013

Minimum price for 55 count and under – 10 cents per pound, based on minimum 40% usable females and maximum 10% redfeed content.

ASP and FFAW also agreed to a sampling program to evaluate the current specs for capelin, in particular the 5 ¼ inch minimum length. Following the 2013 season, the Capelin Working Group that has been set up by FFAW and ASP will evaluate the results of the sampling program to determine what changes, if any, should be made to specs in light of these results.

This project will build on work that was done by Union reps who sampled capelin in several plants last year.
