FFAW Holding Rally in St. Anthony For Resolution to Shrimp Fishery

July 17, 2022

FFAW will be holding a rally tomorrow, Monday July 18th, in St. Anthony to increase pressure for a resolution to the issues impacting the 2022 shrimp fishery. Frustrations continue among harvesters and plant workers as they stand together in agreement that no boats will be landing on the Northern Peninsula for $0.90 – and no industrial shrimp will be processed without local shrimp.

The rally will begin at 12pm and people are asked to gather in the main wharfage parking lot off of Murray Point Road, just past DFO premises in St. Anthony.

All inshore fish harvesters, processing plant workers, and concerned residents in the area are encouraged to attend and encourage action from provincial government.
