EI Rate Update for July 7th - August 6th

As of June 9th, Service Canada has posted the unemployment rate for Economic Region 1 (St. John’s Metro) as 7.5%, and Economic Region 2 (all NL outside of St. John’s Metro) as 11.3%.

The adjusted criteria for hours-based, regular claims in Region 1 (7.5%) is as follows:

Number of Insured Hours Required to Qualify for Regular Benefits: 630

Minimum Number of Weeks Payable for Regular Benefits: 17

Maximum Number of Weeks Payable for Regular Benefits: 40

The adjusted criteria for hours-based, regular claims in Region 2 (12%) is as follows:

Number of Insured Hours Required to Qualify for Regular Benefits: 490

Minimum Number of Weeks Payable for Regular Benefits: 23

Maximum Number of Weeks Payable for Regular Benefits: 45
