Placentia Bay Green Crab Mitigation Project

Applications are now being accepted for green crab harvesting under Marine Institute’s ongoing project in Placentia Bay. Harvesters must fish from one of the following locations:
| North Harbour |
| Swift Current |
| Baine Harbour* |
| St. Joseph’s/Bay De L’Eau |
| Northeast Arm Placentia |
| Southeast Arm Placentia |
| Fox Harbour/Placentia Sound |
* Baine Harbour has been changed to consist of a monthly, smaller maintenance haul due to low numbers in previous years (other sites to remain the same)
Periods to be fished are:
| Fishing Period | Fishing Occurrence | Haul Type |
| July 6-Aug 30, 2020 | 5 days a week | 1 night and 1 day soak |
| Aug 31-Oct 31, 2020 | 2 days a week | 1 night soak |
| Nov 30-March 31, 2021 | Once every 4 weeks | 1 night soak |
