3LMNO Turbot Fishery Trip Limits

June 5, 2019
06/05/2019

DFO has completed the analysis of the 2+3K and 3LMNO Greenland Halibut (Turbot) EOI process for 2019.  For 2019, there were 178 permits submitted for 2+3K and 67 for 3L.  As a result, the tentative trip limits have been set at 30,000 lbs (Round Weight) for harvesters to selected 2+3K and 40,000 lbs (Round Weight) for harvesters who selected 3L.  These permit amounts represent an over allocation in both areas, therefore the Department will monitor both areas closely to ensure that the established TAC’s will not be exceeded.

DFO will be contacting harvesters by e-mail in the near future to advise them of the results and to assess the level of permit acceptance.
