Herring Mobile Gear Closing in St. Mary’s Bay and Placentia Bay

 

DFO advises that the Herring fishery in St. Mary’s Bay, Herring Fishing Area 9 and Placentia Bay, Herring Fishing Area 10 for mobile gear vessels greater than 55 feet in length (16.76 m) and less than 55 feet in length will close at 1800 hours on September 18, 2021. A re-opening date for this fleet will be announced at a later date.

 

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Order 2021 -245 has been revoked and Variation Order 2021-273 comes into effect at 1700 hours on September 18, 2021.
