Closure of the 3KL Northern Cod Stewardship Fishery

DFO advises harvesters that the 2022 Northern Cod Stewardship Fishery in NAFO Divisions 3KL will close on Thursday, September 29th at 18:00 hours to all vessel classes.

As of September 25, approximately 9,800t (94%) of the 3KL 10,400t Maximum Allowable Harvest has been landed.

The Department prioritizes safety at sea. If a harvester is unable to retrieve their gear by the close time due to safety, they are advised to contact their local C&P detachment.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Order 2022-214 has been revoked and Variation Order 2022-215 comes into effect on September 27, 2022.
